1000 mm Reeded White Oak Wall-Hung Vanity — Quartz Top, Dovetail Drawers

French bathrooms are small, and the 2026 answer is not a smaller cabinet but a smarter one. This 1000 mm unit is built for the Haussmann-era apartment: wall-hung so the floor reads continuous in a 4 m2 salle de bain, only 460 mm deep so it clears a door swing, and finished in quarter-sawn white oak with fine vertical reeding — the cannelé ribbing that has replaced flat grey lacquer across French specification sheets. The 20 mm white quartz top carries the ceramic basin flush, so there is no upstand to silicone and no countertop joint to fail. Inside, two dovetail-jointed drawers run full extension on soft-close runners, cut away at the back for the trap so the depth in front of the pipework stays usable. Quoted factory-direct from a 20-piece MOQ, with Blum hardware available on the same drilling.

  • 1000 mm wall-hung carcass at 460 mm deep — the width that fits a Parisian salle de bain without blocking the door swing, and the depth that clears a standard 400 mm basin
  • Quarter-sawn white oak veneer with fine vertical reeding machined on our own CNC — the ribs run continuously across both drawer fronts so the unit reads as one carved panel, not two stacked boxes
  • 20 mm white engineered quartz top with the ceramic basin set flush — one non-porous plane, no upstand, no countertop fabricator, nothing to reseal at the wall
  • Two dovetail-jointed drawer boxes on soft-close full-extension runners, each cut away at the back for the trap and supply lines
  • Slim brushed-brass bar pull recessed under the top drawer edge — the brass detail French specifiers are asking for, without a handle breaking the ribbing
  • Moisture-resistant plywood carcass with sealed edges; 18 mm fronts; E1 board throughout, with a full PVC body available for wet rooms
  • No tap hole as standard, for a wall-mounted basin mixer — single-hole or three-hole drilling to your tap on request
  • Sizes 600 / 750 / 1000 / 1200 mm off the same front programme, so a French size range quotes as a single production run
  • Optional matching LED anti-fog mirror or round brass-framed mirror, sized to the 1000 mm unit

Product FAQ

Why reeded white oak rather than the grey lacquer French buyers specified two years ago?
Because the specification has moved, and it moved for a practical reason. Grey lacquer shows every dried water mark and every chip on a door edge, and in a small bathroom with a shower next to the vanity those chips arrive fast. Reeded quarter-sawn oak hides edge wear in the shadow of the ribs, warms a room that has no natural light, and reads as furniture rather than as a bathroom fixture — which is exactly what a Parisian apartment renovation is trying to achieve in 4 m2. We machine the ribbing in-house on the same front programme, so the pitch stays consistent across a container instead of drifting supplier to supplier.
Do dovetail drawers make sense on a bathroom vanity, or is that specification overkill?
They make sense on the drawer that holds the heavy things — bottles, jars, the hair dryer. A stapled or glued box will hold, but the joint is what survives a decade of a loaded drawer being pulled open by one corner. We dovetail the four corners of both boxes, run them on full-extension soft-close runners, and cut the back away for the trap so the drawer still opens fully in front of the pipework. If your programme is price-led we also build the same front on a glued box — the reeding and the quartz top do not change.
Quartz or ceramic top — which should we specify for the French market?
Quartz if the top is the visible design surface, ceramic if the basin and top must be one moulded piece. On this unit the 20 mm quartz top carries a flush-set ceramic basin, which gives you a non-porous work surface with a basin that can be replaced without scrapping the top. There is no upstand, so nothing to reseal where the top meets the wall — the detail that fails first in a humid room. We also cut the same carcass for a ceramic or sintered-stone top if your retail price band needs it.
What is the MOQ, and how does shipping to France work?
Our MOQ is 20 pieces per model, and sample orders are welcome before you commit to a programme. We run a 20,000 m2 factory and have supplied the world's top-10 building-material brands since 2009, so repeat French programmes hold production slots. We quote realistic sea-freight timelines per port — Le Havre and Marseille — and the quartz top is crated separately so it does not travel on top of the carcasses.
