900mm Warm Oak Floating Vanity — Drawers Deep Enough for a Litre Bottle

Chilean bathrooms are getting smaller and the vanity is where that shows first: in a 4 m2 apartment bathroom the wall-hung cabinet has to hold everything the old floor unit held, and internal drawer depth decides whether it can. The standard complaint against floating vanities is not the look, it is that the drawers are 150 to 180mm deep and a one-litre shampoo bottle has to lie down. This unit is dimensioned around that. Two full-width drawers at 305mm internal depth, the lower one 240mm high, so bottles stand up and the top drawer still clears the basin waste. Behind the face, an 18mm plywood carcass rather than chipboard, because a wall-hung box carries its load in the side panels and a handleless front pulls at the finger recess. The face is warm oak veneer with a 2mm solid oak lipping, sealed under a matt water-based lacquer at 4 to 6 gloss units, on a 900 x 460 x 500mm box. On top, a 20mm sintered stone worktop with an undermount ceramic basin, cut here to your tap and waste set-out. Wall fixing is issued in writing because Chilean apartment partitions are usually yeso carton on metal studs: a loaded 900mm unit is around 65kg and the rail goes to structure or to a plywood pattress, never to plasterboard anchors. A 20-piece OEM/ODM programme for Chilean importers, bathroom retailers and project developers.

  • 900 x 460 x 500mm wall-hung box with two full-width drawers at 305mm internal depth and the lower drawer at 240mm clear height — a one-litre bottle stands upright, which is the one complaint every floating vanity review repeats
  • 18mm plywood carcass with sealed ABS edges, glued and dowelled corners, 8mm back panel and 32mm system drilling; plywood rather than chipboard because a wall-hung box puts its whole load into the side panels and a handleless front pulls at the recess
  • Warm oak veneer at 0.6mm on an 18mm MDF core with a 2mm solid oak lipping on the exposed edges, so the front edge reads as timber rather than as a wrapped panel
  • Matt water-based lacquer at 4 to 6 gloss units, sprayed two coats over a sealed primer and colour matched to a supplied panel or a RAL / NCS reference; a satin at 7 to 9 gloss units on the same face for markets that prefer it
  • 20mm sintered stone worktop, 900 x 460mm, square edge with a 2mm arris and a 20mm upstand, 35mm tap hole and 45mm waste aperture cut and edge-polished to your plumbing set-out before crating
  • White ceramic undermount basin roughly 450 x 320 x 120mm internal, fixed with a stainless clip system and neutral-cure silicone under the stone — no overflow slot to stain and no rim to collect toothpaste
  • Blum TandemBox soft-close full-extension drawers rated 40kg, and Blum clip-on concealed hinges with three-way adjustment on the door version; a cost-equivalent runner set on identical drilling for entry price points
  • Handleless throughout: a 20 x 10mm finger recess machined under the top edge of each drawer front and sealed as part of the spray, so a wet hand at the pull does not raise the core
  • Matching mirror in a slim solid oak frame, 900 x 900mm with a 22mm face and 5mm copper-free glass, hung on the same stud line as the cabinet so the two boxes read as one elevation
  • Steel hanging rail with adjustable hooks and a one-page wall specification: yeso carton on metal studs, masonry, or an 18mm plywood pattress. A loaded 900mm unit is roughly 65kg with the stone and basin fitted, so plasterboard anchors alone are not accepted
  • Sized on the 900mm module with 600, 750, 1000 and 1200mm on the same tooling and the same 460mm depth; MOQ 20 pieces per model with widths and the left- or right-hand drawer bank mixed inside the 20, while a custom colour or a non-standard stone needs a 60-piece run
  • Flat-packed in a 5-layer carton at roughly 38kg for the carcass and drawers, with the stone crated upright in its own plywood case at roughly 24kg and the mirror corner-protected in a third carton, so a damaged top never means a replacement cabinet

Product FAQ

Why make drawer depth the headline on a 900mm vanity?
Because it is the failure that gets repeated in every review of a wall-hung unit. A standard 500mm deep floating cabinet usually gives 150 to 180mm of internal drawer depth once the runner, the back panel and the basin waste are accounted for, and a one-litre shampoo bottle is 250 to 300mm tall. The result is a bathroom where the storage exists on paper and not in practice. Here the drawer box is 305mm deep with a 240mm clear lower drawer, which is only possible if the runner is specified at the drawing stage and the waste is offset to one side of the basin rather than dropped through the middle of the cabinet. That is a carcass decision, not a styling one, and it is the reason this model is built on 18mm plywood with a full-height side panel.
Will a floating vanity hold on a yeso carton partition?
Not on the plasterboard itself, and this is where Chilean apartment installations usually go wrong. Most interior partitions are yeso carton over metal studs at 400 or 600mm centres, and a loaded 900mm unit with a stone top and a basin is around 65kg. The steel hanging rail is designed to reach the studs, a plywood pattress inserted behind the board, or masonry, and we issue a one-page wall specification with every order that shows the three cases. If the stud layout does not land on the rail centres we ask for a photograph of the wall with a tape measure in frame before dispatch on project orders. It takes five minutes and it removes the only structural failure mode this product has.
Does oak veneer survive a steamy bathroom, and what about the coast?
The veneer is not the vulnerable part if the sealing is done properly: 0.6mm oak on an MDF core with a solid oak lipping, sealed on all six faces under a water-based matt lacquer, is a stable panel in a bathroom because the core is dimensionally stable and the edges are lipped rather than taped. What fails in coastal cities such as Valparaiso or Concepcion is an unsealed cut edge or a chipboard core swelling at the bottom of the door. This carcass is plywood with sealed ABS edges and the unit is wall-hung, so there is no bottom rail sitting in a puddle. For a project within 1km of the sea we recommend the satin sheen version, because a slightly higher film build wipes down more easily than a dead-matt surface.
Sintered stone or quartz for a Chilean project?
Both work; the difference is handling and repair. Sintered stone is thinner at the same strength, is not affected by UV through a window, and does not stain from hair dye or nail polish remover, which matters in a rental or a hotel bathroom. It is also more brittle at the edge, so we cut the tap and waste apertures here and crate the top upright in its own case rather than shipping it in the cabinet carton. Quartz is easier to re-polish on site if a fitter chips an arris. For the 900mm module we recommend the 20mm sintered top as standard and quote quartz on the same set-out if the project specifies it.
Can the mirror be shipped with the cabinet as one set?
Yes, and it should be, because the frame and the cabinet are sprayed in the same batch and the oak grain is selected from the same bundle. Ordering them separately is how a bathroom ends up with a mirror frame that is noticeably warmer or cooler than the cabinet under it. The set ships as three packages on one packing list — carcass, stone, mirror — each marked, and the mirror bracket is pre-drilled to the same 900mm centres as the hanging rail, so one laser line sets both.
How does a 20-piece order work across widths and colours?
Twenty pieces per model, and the 20 can mix the 600, 750, 900, 1000 and 1200mm widths and the left- or right-hand drawer bank, because the drilling, the runner position and the stone profile are the same across the range. A custom colour, a non-standard stone or a mirrored layout needs a 60-piece run, since each of those means a dedicated spray batch or a re-programmed CNC file. Production runs 20 to 35 days after finish and stone approval, and sea freight to San Antonio or Valparaiso adds 30 to 38 days. We are a 20,000 m2 factory in Jiangshan, Zhejiang, and we supply several of the world's ten largest building-material brands on the same lines.
