900 mm Oiled Oak Wall-Hung Vanity — Seamless Mineral Cast Basin

German bathrooms are small and getting smaller: the typical Mietwohnung wash room is 2 to 4 m2, so the vanity has to earn its floor space twice — once as storage and once as the visual centre of the room. This 900 mm unit answers both with the same move: it hangs off the wall at 460 mm deep so the floor tile reads continuous underneath, and it drops the handles entirely. Each drawer front is a 19 mm oiled white oak slab with a 25 mm grip channel machined into its top edge, so there is nothing protruding to catch a towel, a hip or a bathroom door, and the front reads as one uninterrupted oak plane. The top is the part that separates this unit from a lacquered box with a basin dropped into it: the bowl and the work surface are cast as one piece of white mineral cast, so there is no rim, no overflow slot and no silicone bead to discolour in year three. Two dovetail drawers run full extension on soft-close runners, cut away at the back for the trap, and the carcass edges are sealed before assembly. It is the format German retailers are moving to at the 900-1000 mm price point, and it ships on the same door and carcass programme as the rest of our range.

  • 900 x 460 mm wall-hung footprint, 480 mm carcase height, with an adjustable steel hanging rail (±10 mm) so a 900 unit can be levelled against a 1.8 m tile grid without packing the brackets
  • 19 mm flat slab fronts in oiled white oak veneer — the oil finish is repairable on site with a cloth, which matters in rental refurbishment where a scratched lacquer front means a new door
  • 25 mm recessed grip channel milled full width into the top edge of each drawer front: handleless with no tip-on mechanism to fail, no push-to-open creep and no protruding metal in a 900 mm walking zone
  • One-piece white mineral cast top with the bowl cast into the surface — no rim, no overflow slot, no silicone joint at the basin edge, and a 12 mm visible edge that keeps the unit looking thin
  • Two dovetail drawer boxes with 18 mm sides and an 8 mm base, full-extension soft-close runners, rear cut-out for the trap so the usable depth in front of the pipework is preserved
  • 16-18 mm E1/E0 board or plywood carcass with moisture-sealed edges and a sealed service void; interior in light grey so the inside of the cabinet matches a German fit-out standard rather than a warehouse default
  • Blum hardware available as an option on the same drilling pattern; DTC soft-close runners and hinges are the standard fit
  • Basin top supplied with no tap drilling, single-hole or three-hole drilling to your mixer specification — the hole is cut after the top is cast, not during, so a late spec change does not scrap the unit
  • Front finish options on the same carcass and drilling: oiled natural oak, smoked oak, or matte lacquer in RAL-matched colours for retailers running a colour story next to the oak hero

Product FAQ

Why specify a mineral cast basin instead of a ceramic basin dropped into a countertop?
Because the failure point in a vanity is almost never the basin — it is the joint around it. A drop-in or undermount ceramic basin needs a rim or a silicone bead, and in a wet room that bead collects soap, hardens and discolours within two or three heating seasons. Mineral cast is poured as one piece with the work surface, so the bowl and the top are the same material with no seam: nothing to re-silicone, nothing to scrub black, and no rim to catch water that then sits under the basin. It also lets us cast a deeper bowl in a thinner top, which is what makes a 12 mm edge possible on a 900 mm unit.
Can a 900 mm wall-hung vanity be fixed to a plasterboard wall?
Yes, with the right anchors — the load goes into the hanging rail, not into the cabinet back panel. The rail is a full-width steel profile with ±10 mm levelling, and it must be fixed into studs, into a timber or steel sub-frame, or with tested heavy-duty plasterboard anchors rated for the wet load. That is a site decision, not a product one: we supply the rail, the template and the fixing schedule, and the specifier confirms the substrate. For drywall bathrooms where no stud lines up, a floor-standing variant on the same carcass is the safer call and we cut both from one production set.
Can the top be supplied without an overflow and with a specific mixer drilling?
Yes — the mineral cast top is cast without an overflow as standard, which is also what keeps the bowl surface continuous and easy to clean. Tap drilling is cut after casting to your drawing: no hole for a wall-mounted mixer, one hole for a single-lever mixer, or three holes for a German-style battery with separate hot and cold valves. Send the mixer cut-out drawing with the order and we will return a drilling confirmation before production.
What is the production lead time and how is the order shipped?
Standard lead time is 35-45 days after drawing and finish approval, with samples typically 15-20 working days. MOQ is 20 pieces per model and models can be mixed inside one container. Cabinets ship KD flat-pack with corner protection; the mineral cast top ships in its own double-wall carton on a moulded cradle, and we load tops and carcasses as separate stacks so nothing heavy rests on a cast edge.
