Pale Pistachio Kitchen — A Light Green That Does Not Turn Grey

Most green kitchens fail in one of two ways: the tone is dark enough that a small room closes in, or it is grey enough that the green disappears under a north-facing window. A pale pistachio sits between the two — light enough to keep a 3-metre kitchen bright, warm enough that the yellow in the pigment still reads as green at 400mm, and quiet enough to sit under a white quartz top without competing with it. This programme is that tone in a super-matt finish on 19mm slab doors, handleless on a 3mm shadow gap with a dark bronze J-profile. Underneath it is the standard FAME carcass: 18mm E1 board, 32mm system drilling, soft-close throughout, widths from 300 to 1000mm on a 50mm grid. A second-cycle finish available across base, wall, tall and drawer units, aimed at importers and kitchen studios that already carry sage and olive and need a lighter green for smaller rooms.

  • Pale pistachio super-matt front — a light, warm yellow-green at 4 to 6 gloss units measured at 60 degrees, chosen so the colour still reads green in a north-facing room instead of collapsing into grey
  • 19mm flat slab doors and drawer fronts with an edge banded and finished in the same foil, so there is no dark seam line at the door edge and no colour break under raking light
  • Handleless as standard: a consistent 3mm shadow gap between fronts with a recessed aluminium J-profile in dark bronze under the worktop and above the base run, or push-to-open with no profile at all on the upper run
  • 18mm E1 board carcass with sealed edges, glued and dowelled corners, 8mm back panel and 32mm system drilling on every side panel — the same carcass as our lacquer and veneer programmes, so a mixed kitchen quotes as one order
  • Modular widths from 300 to 1000mm on a 50mm grid across base, wall, tall and drawer units, with end panels, plinth and filler panels in the same pistachio foil
  • Base units 720mm high and 560mm deep, wall units 720mm high and 350mm deep, tall units 2010 to 2280mm, with a 100mm recessed plinth set back 60mm so the run reads as a floating mass rather than a box on the floor
  • 20mm white quartz or sintered stone worktop with a 20mm upstand and a matching splashback panel, cut for sink, hob and tap to your set-out before crating; a 38mm laminated top is available for entry price points
  • Soft-close clip-on hinges with three-way adjustment and soft-close full-extension runners as standard, with Blum hinges and Blum TandemBox runners available as an option on identical drilling
  • Anti-fingerprint top coat on the matt face, tested by handling the same door forty times and wiping once with a dry cloth — the reason a pale tone stays presentable in a family kitchen
  • Height-adjustable wall-unit hangers and cover caps finished in the matching foil, so no white plastic plug shows on a pistachio front after installation
  • Flat-packed in 5-layer cartons with corner protection and foam-separated door faces, or shipped assembled for contract work; one packing list per set, doors marked face-out
  • MOQ 20 pcs per model, produced in our 20,000 m² factory, ISO9001, CE and SGS certified, 17 years in cabinet manufacturing

Product FAQ

Why pistachio and not another sage or olive?
Because sage and olive are both mid-tone and both cool down in a small room. Sage has enough grey in it that under a north-facing window it reads as pale grey-green; olive is dark enough that a 2.6-metre ceiling starts to feel low. A pale pistachio keeps more yellow in the pigment and less black, so the wall of cabinetry stays light and the green survives the light it is actually installed in. On a 3-metre run in a 9 square metre kitchen this is the difference between a room that looks intentional and a room that looks painted over. It also sits better under a white quartz top than either sage or olive, because the top does not have to fight a second mid-tone.
Will a pale matt front show grease and finger marks?
Less than a gloss front and less than a deep shaker, but it is still a matt surface and it still needs a weekly wipe. The foil carries an anti-fingerprint top coat, and the tone helps: a pale yellow-green shows a handling mark far less than a dark grey or a mid-blue. What we do not recommend is this tone directly behind a gas hob without extraction — any matt face will pick up a grease haze at eye level within a few months, whatever the colour. With a normal 600mm extractor, a dry microfibre cloth once a week is enough, and a degreaser is only needed on the splashback.
Does the J-profile have to be dark bronze?
No, but it is the detail that makes the pale green work. A white or silver profile on a pistachio front reads as a gap that has been filled in; a dark bronze profile reads as a deliberate line and gives the 3mm shadow gap something to sit against. The same profile is available in brushed stainless and in matt black, and the drilling and the reveal are identical, so a dealer can change the finish without changing the door programme. On the upper run we would leave the profile out entirely and use push-to-open, because a horizontal line at eye level in a small kitchen is one line too many.
How does the carcass compare with a lacquered or veneered programme?
It is the same carcass: 18mm E1 board, 32mm system drilling, 8mm back panel, glued and dowelled corners, soft-close hardware as standard. Only the front changes. That matters commercially — an importer can put a pistachio foil kitchen, a lacquered kitchen and an oak veneer kitchen into one container without three sets of drawings, because the base units, the plinth, the hangers and the worktop cutting programme are common. It also means a damaged door in year three is a foil door from stock, not a spray batch that has to be colour-matched to a three-year-old lacquer.
How does a 20-piece order work across widths and finishes?
Twenty pieces per model, and the 20 can mix 300 to 1000mm widths, base, wall, tall and drawer units, the two handle options and the three profile finishes, because the drilling and the foil are the same across the range. What needs its own run is a colour change — any RAL or NCS reference in a lacquered door is 60 pieces, with a sprayed sample approved first — or a non-standard worktop thickness. Production runs 20 to 35 days after finish approval, plus 28 to 35 days by sea to Hamburg or Bremerhaven. We have been building cabinets since 2009 — 17 years — in a 20,000 m² factory in Jiangshan, Zhejiang, and we supply several of the world's ten largest building-material brands on the same lines.
