1000mm Calacatta Viola Vanity — Reeded Glass in a Warm Oak Frame

Brazilian apartment bathrooms are narrow and the mirror wall is usually the only long wall — which is why the vanity that keeps selling into São Paulo and Curitiba projects is not the biggest one, it is the one that makes a 1000mm wall look deliberate. This run does it with two materials rather than one: a warm oak frame carrying two drawer fronts of 5mm reeded glass, and a Calacatta Viola marble top with the basin carved straight out of the 20mm slab. The reeded glass is the reason the cabinet works at 520mm deep. A solid lacquered front at this depth reads as a heavy block in a small room; a ribbed glass front at 12mm pitch breaks the light into vertical lines, hides what is inside the drawer at normal standing height, and still lets the oak grain behind it show through at a metre. The stone does the opposite job — it is the only surface that must look solid. Calacatta Viola is quarried white with a violet-to-burgundy vein that runs through the block, so the basin is cut and hollowed from the same slab as the top: no joint line between counter and bowl, no separate ceramic piece to specify, and a 9-litre bowl deep enough for hand-washing without splashing the wall. The cabinet hangs on a steel rail at 585mm tall — Brazilian wall-hung tap sets are usually set at 1050–1100mm, and this height leaves the clearance those need — with no deck drilling, so the stone arrives unperforated. It is a 20-piece OEM/ODM programme for importers, bathroom retailers and hotel refurbishment specifiers, in 800, 1000 and 1200mm widths on the same carcass depth.

  • Counter and basin carved from one 20mm Calacatta Viola slab — white ground with a violet-burgundy vein, no joint between top and bowl, no separate ceramic basin to source or replace
  • Integrated bowl hollowed from the stone with soft radiused interior corners, 9-litre capacity and a 1¼″ slotted waste, deep enough for hand-washing without splashing the wall behind
  • Two drawer fronts in 5mm tempered reeded glass at 12mm rib pitch — the ribs break reflections into vertical lines, so a 520mm-deep cabinet reads as a slim plane instead of a solid block
  • Clear glass over a light interior, not frosted: at standing height the drawer contents stay hidden, but the oak grain and the light behind the glass still register at a metre
  • Solid oak frame — 22mm stiles and rails around the drawer apertures, oiled matte rather than lacquered, so the grain stays open and a scratch can be re-oiled on site instead of resprayed
  • Brushed-nickel bar pulls recessed into the top rail of each drawer front, 128mm centres, satin finish that matches Brazilian tapware in chrome-nickel rather than fighting it with brass
  • 18mm plywood carcass with sealed edges and an 8mm back panel — plywood rather than chipboard, because reeded glass and stone are both unforgiving if the box racks and the gaps open
  • Blum TandemBox soft-close runners on both drawers, full-extension, 30kg rated; a BLUMOTION hinge set for the 1200mm two-door variant; cost-equivalent Chinese runners on the same drilling for entry price points
  • Wall-hung on a galvanised steel hanging rail with two M10 anchor points per stud bay and a 150kg static load rating — fixing drawings and the wall-reinforcement schedule ship with every order
  • No deck drilling: the stone arrives unperforated for wall-mounted tap sets, or can be drilled at the factory to a supplied tap template if the project uses a deck-mounted mixer
  • Optional LED mirror at 1000×800×30mm — anti-fog demister, touch switch, 3000/4000/6000K, IP44 rated, wired to a single 220V wall box on a 1.5m flex
  • Sizes 800 / 1000 / 1200mm on a 520mm carcass depth and 585mm cabinet height; crated one unit per carton with the stone in a separate foam-lined crate

Product FAQ

Is the basin really carved from the same slab as the top?
Yes — the top and bowl come out of one 20 mm Calacatta Viola slab, hollowed on a CNC and hand-finished at the internal corners. That is why there is no joint line and no separate ceramic basin in the specification. Because the vein runs through the block, no two units are identical; we send a photo of the actual slab for approval before cutting on orders above 50 pieces.
Why reeded glass instead of a solid lacquered front?
Depth. At 520 mm a solid front in a narrow Brazilian bathroom reads as a block, and any run of two or three doors turns into a heavy rectangle. Ribbed glass at 12 mm pitch breaks the reflection into vertical lines, which makes the cabinet look slimmer and lets the oak behind it show. It also hides drawer contents at standing height without going fully frosted, so you keep the transparency.
Will the marble stain in a bathroom?
Polished Calacatta Viola is sealed twice at the factory and is fine for normal bathroom use, but it is a calcium-based stone: acidic cleaners, citrus and standing water will dull it over time. Wipe it dry and use a pH-neutral cleaner. If the project wants zero maintenance, the same cabinet is available with a sintered-stone top at a lower cost.
What wall does it need for a wall-hung install?
A structural or masonry wall, or a stud wall with timber or steel reinforcement behind the finish. We supply a fixing drawing and a reinforcement schedule with every order, and the rail is rated to 150 kg static. On drywall without reinforcement, use the floor-standing variant instead.
What is the MOQ and how does a first order work?
20 pieces per model, and you can mix 800, 1000 and 1200 mm widths plus stone options inside that 20. A single paid sample is available for evaluation. Production is 30 days after stone and colour approval; we are a 20,000 m² factory in Jiangshan, Zhejiang, supplying several of the world's ten largest building-material brands, and the same line runs this programme.
Can the mirror and tap be supplied with the cabinet?
The LED mirror is a factory option at 1000 × 800 × 30 mm, IP44, with anti-fog and three colour temperatures. Taps are not manufactured by us — we drill to your template and can consolidate a specified tap model into the same shipment if you want a single container.
