Why an aluminium body with a wood-grain finish instead of solid wood or sealed board?
Because the Chilean market asks for two things that normally exclude each other — the look of warm wood, and a body that survives humidity. Solid wood and sealed panels both fail at the same point: the edge. Once a cut edge or a seal is broken in transit or on site, the core takes on moisture and the panel swells, and on the coast the salt air keeps working on that spot long after the bathroom has dried. An extruded aluminium body with sealed welded corners removes the failure mode, because there is no core to absorb water and no edge to lift, and the metal cannot rust. The wood look then comes from a cured wood-grain powder coat rather than a veneer, so it cannot peel. If your programme is inland and cost-sensitive, we quote sealed plywood or full PVC on the same profile — tell us the region or city the order ships to and we recommend the right body for it.
Will the wood-grain finish look like a photograph printed on metal?
No — it is a cured powder coat with a grain registered into the finish, not a printed sticker, and the drawer fronts are flat full-width panels so the grain runs continuously across the face rather than meeting at awkward joints. The result reads as a warm walnut-toned cabinet surface in daylight and under artificial light, which is what buyers respond to in a showroom. Because the front is a flat panel, a programme built across two or three grain tones still reads as one family on a display wall, and a colour change does not change the profile or the tooling. Send us your colour references and we will run a sample front for approval before production.
Is 800 mm wide enough for a family bathroom, or should we specify 1000 mm?
800 mm is the apartment width — it fits the compact bathrooms that dominate Chilean new-build apartments and leaves the door swing and floor clear. It still takes a full-size ceramic basin and two full-width drawers, so storage is not sacrificed. For a house or a main bathroom, step up to the 1000 mm or 1200 mm version: identical body, identical finish, same drawer construction, just wider, and the double-basin layout only becomes practical from 1000 mm. Because all sizes come from the same tooling, you can mix 800 mm, 1000 mm and 1200 mm in one order at a 20-piece minimum per model, which lets one programme cover a powder room, an en-suite and a main bathroom on one container plan.
Does the unit include the tap, and what should Chilean programmes specify?
The deck is cut and drilled at the factory and the waste kit and drainer ship with the unit, in stainless steel or brass to match the handles. The tap itself is normally nominated by the importer rather than bundled, because plumbing fittings sold into a Chilean programme are usually specified by the importer's own range and approval requirements. The safest process is to send us the tap you intend to sell and we will cut and drill the top to suit it, so the rim cannot chip and no stone work happens on site. If your programme needs a different drilling pattern from the standard single-hole deck, tell us before production and we will tool it to your market standard.
How does the wall-hung fixing work on a tiled wall?
The unit hangs on a concealed steel bracket supplied with every order, so nothing is visible once it is up and the floor stays completely clear for cleaning. The wall behind must be able to take the loaded weight — masonry, or a stud wall with reinforcement behind the cabinet position. Because apartment walls behind a bathroom vanity are frequently lightweight, we supply a fixing guide with each order stating the unit weight, the bracket position and the minimum fixing specification, which lets the installer plan and reinforce the wall before the unit arrives instead of improvising on the day.
What is the MOQ, and which documents ship with a Chilean order?
