Tall Appliance Tower — Built-In Oven, Microwave & Pull-Out Landing Shelf

Every kitchen has one wall that has to carry the equipment, and most kitchens waste it. An oven under the counter means bending to lift a hot tray over a door; a microwave on the worktop eats the only clear prep space in the room; and the two appliances end up in different corners because nobody planned the elevation. This tower is that wall, resolved vertically: a 600 mm module, 2200 mm high, with the oven niche centred at 1200 mm so the door opens at forearm height, a compact microwave stacked directly above it, a stainless pull-out landing shelf below the oven that takes a hot tray at the moment the door opens, and a full-height larder beside the appliance stack for the trays, tins and the things that have no other home. The front is one continuous handleless plane, the plinth is vented, and the back carries a 50 mm service gap so the appliance can breathe and the fitter can reach the connection without pulling the unit out of the run. It aligns with a standard 600 base and wall run, so it reads as part of the kitchen rather than a bolt-on.

  • 600 mm module, 2200 mm high as standard (2100 mm for lower ceilings), 560-580 mm deep — aligns on the same 600 grid as base and wall units so the tower reads as part of the elevation
  • Oven niche sized to a 60 cm built-in appliance with the cavity centred at 1200 mm; niche cut-outs made to your appliance drawing rather than a nominal size, so the fascia sits flush without packing shims
  • Compact microwave niche stacked directly above the oven on a heat-isolated shelf, with a 40 mm ventilation gap top and bottom and a rear service void behind both appliances
  • Stainless pull-out landing shelf below the oven on full-extension runners — a hot tray has somewhere to go the moment the door opens, and the shelf parks flush when it is not needed
  • Full-height larder section with five adjustable shelves and two internal drawers on the same carcass, so trays, baking sheets and small appliances live in the tower instead of on the worktop
  • 18 mm handleless fronts in matte lacquer with a recessed grip profile — no handles to catch on a 600 mm walkway, and the front plane stays unbroken from plinth to top
  • 110-degree soft-close hinges (Blum or Hettich) with a 3-way cam adjustment; hinges on the appliance doors are rated for the appliance weight, not for a standard door
  • 18 mm E1/E0 board or plywood carcass with sealed edges, a heat-resistant shelf above the oven and a vented 100 mm plinth that feeds the appliance cooling path
  • Shipped KD flat-pack with the appliance cut-outs pre-machined, edge-banded and sealed; assembly on site with cam and dowel, no cutting of finished panels on site

Product FAQ

Why put the oven in a tower instead of under the counter?
Because under-counter ovens are a compromise that the kitchen lives with for fifteen years. The appliance sits at 150-200 mm above the floor, so every hot tray is lifted from below knee height and carried across an open door — the single most common burn scenario in a domestic kitchen. In a tower the oven cavity is centred at 1200 mm, which is forearm height for an average adult, so the tray comes out level and goes straight onto the landing shelf below. It also frees the base run: the 600 mm that would have held the oven becomes a drawer stack, and the microwave leaves the worktop entirely.
How is the appliance ventilated inside a closed tall unit?
Three paths, all planned at the machining stage rather than on site. The plinth is vented at 100 mm with an air path behind the carcass, the rear of the appliance stack carries a 50 mm service gap from plinth to top, and each niche has a 40 mm gap above and below the appliance so convection can move through the cavity. The shelf between the oven and the microwave is heat-isolated so the microwave is not sitting on a hot surface. We machine the vents and the cable route into the panels; the installer connects, and nothing has to be cut in a customer's kitchen.
Can it take a 60 cm oven plus a compact microwave, and still line up with a 600 base run?
Yes — that is the standard configuration. The tower is 600 mm wide on the same module as the base and wall units, so door lines and plinth lines continue across the elevation. The oven niche takes a standard 60 cm built-in appliance (roughly 560-568 mm wide, 590-600 mm high) and the compact microwave sits above it. Send the two appliance cut-out drawings with the order; we return a machining drawing for approval before production, because a 5 mm error in a niche is a visible gap in a handleless front.
What is the minimum order and the lead time?
MOQ is 20 pieces per model, and models can be mixed inside one container. Lead time is 35-45 days after drawing and finish approval; samples are typically 15-20 working days. The tower ships KD flat-pack with the appliance cut-outs already machined and edge-sealed, with a labelled fitting box of hinges, shelf pins and fixings per unit.
