Champagne Pearl Metallic Kitchen — A 22 mm Slab With a Bronze Edge Pull

Champagne is the one metallic a kitchen can carry at full run length without turning into a hotel lobby, and the reason is that it is a warm pale gold rather than a yellow: pearl mica in the lacquer scatters light instead of reflecting it, so the colour moves between a soft gold and a cool pale sand as you walk past, and never reads as brass. The risk with a metallic finish is that it needs a plain face to work — a shaker frame or a routed groove breaks the flop into strips and the whole run starts to look like a car panel. So the front here is a 22mm flat slab, sharp square edge, no frame and no groove, with the pull integrated as a 6mm brushed bronze aluminium profile let into the top edge of every base door and the bottom edge of every wall door. That single line is the only metal in the room and it does the work a handle would do, without a knob to catch a sleeve. Behind it sits an 18mm plywood carcass on 32mm system drilling, 720mm base boxes on a 100mm recessed plinth, Blum soft-close throughout, and a 20mm white quartz top with a fine grey speckle. Champagne is deliberately not another cream: the cream and high-gloss white kitchens in the range are neutral fills, this one is a finish that has to be seen moving before a buyer commits to it — which is what the three-panel approval set is for. A 20-piece OEM/ODM programme for importers, kitchen studios and multi-family developers.

  • Champagne pearl at 8 gloss units — a warm pale gold with fine pearl mica, matched to a supplied panel so it does not drift yellow under 2700K light or grey out under 4000K
  • Two-coat polyurethane lacquer with a pearl-mica base coat and a clear satin topcoat: the metallic effect comes from the pigment layer under a sealed film, so it cannot be polished through the way a metallic paint can
  • 22mm flat slab door with a sharp square edge and no frame, no groove and no applied moulding — a metallic face needs one uninterrupted plane or the light flop breaks into strips
  • 6mm brushed bronze aluminium edge profile let into the top edge of base doors and the bottom edge of wall doors: an integrated pull with a 30mm finger clearance, so there is no knob to catch a sleeve and the front stays a single plane
  • Uniform 3mm shadow gaps held by the hinge and runner drilling rather than site adjustment, so eight fronts read as one continuous face with parallel lines instead of eight panels at eight heights
  • The bronze profile is anodised rather than painted, so it does not fade to a flat brown near a hob or tarnish the way untreated brass does in a steamy kitchen
  • 100mm recessed plinth in the same champagne, set back 60mm, so the base run appears to float and the toe-kick disappears in low light rather than reading as a band of a different colour
  • 18mm plywood carcass with sealed ABS edges, 8mm back panel and 32mm system drilling — plywood rather than chipboard, because a 22mm slab door has no frame to hide a racked box and a metallic face shows every millimetre of misalignment
  • 720mm base carcasses on adjustable legs behind the plinth for a 900mm finished worktop height; 330mm deep wall units at 720mm high with one adjustable shelf on the 32mm system
  • 20mm white quartz worktop with a fine grey speckle, 620mm deep, square edge and a 100mm matching upstand — white rather than a warm stone, so the champagne keeps its metallic cast instead of going beige against the worktop
  • Blum TandemBox soft-close drawers rated 30 to 70kg and Blum clip-on concealed hinges with three-way adjustment; a cost-equivalent Chinese runner set on the same 32mm drilling for entry price points
  • Standard module widths of 300 / 400 / 500 / 600 / 900 / 1000mm with 570mm deep base boxes, so a run plans on a 100mm grid and still lands on standard sink and appliance apertures without a bespoke carcass

Product FAQ

How is this different from the cream, high-gloss white and gold-trim kitchens already in the range?
By what the finish does with light. The cream and high-gloss white kitchens are neutral fills: they are chosen so they do not fight anything else. This one is a pearl metallic, which means the colour is not fixed — it reads warm gold where light rakes across the door and cool pale sand in shadow, and that movement is the whole point. The gold-trim lacquer kitchen in the range puts metal in a trim line against a flat cream panel; here the panel itself is the metal and the only metal in the room is a 6mm profile acting as the pull.
Will a metallic lacquer look like a car paint in a kitchen?
Only if the face has detail on it. Car paint looks like car paint because it sits on a curved panel with a strong clearcoat flop; here the door is a 22mm flat slab at 8 gloss units, with a pearl-mica base under a satin topcoat, so the flop is fine and directional rather than a mirror. What would make it look wrong is a shaker frame, a routed groove or a gloss level above about 15 — each of those cuts the plane into strips or turns the pearl into a reflection. If a programme wants more restraint, the same colour runs at 4 gloss units with the mica loading reduced.
Is the aluminium edge pull strong enough to open a 600mm door every day?
Yes, because it is fixed into the door, not glued to it. The 6mm profile is rebated into a machined groove in the top edge of the door and mechanically fixed along its length, so the pull load goes into the door edge rather than into an adhesive line. It is a finger pull, not a handle: 30mm of clearance behind the face, opened with the fingertips, which is why it is specified with Blum soft-close hinges — a slam on a 22mm slab door with an integrated pull is what would eventually loosen the hinge plate, not the profile.
Does a light metallic kitchen show fingerprints and cooking grease?
Less than a high gloss, more than a textured melamine. At 8 gloss units the surface scatters most of the light, so a fingerprint does not read the way it does on a 90 gloss panel; the real risk is aerosolised cooking fat near the hob, which is why the topcoat is polyurethane rather than a matt paint — it wipes clean with a damp cloth without burnishing the sheen. An anti-fingerprint topcoat is available for high-traffic rental and multi-family programmes, and adds about 7 days.
How is the colour approved before a 20-piece run?
Three routes: match to a RAL or NCS reference, match to a physical sample you send, or we spray three 200 x 300mm slabs in adjacent pearl loadings and courier them for approval. Metallic finishes need the panel route more than flat colours do, because the mica loading changes the flop and a swatch on a screen cannot show it. Production does not start until a signed panel comes back, and on repeat orders we keep both the approved panel and the batch formulation on file.
How does a 20-piece order work, and what are the lead times?
Twenty pieces per model, and the 20 can be split across widths, the one-panel or two-panel layout and a two-tone split. A single paid sample kitchen is available for evaluation. Production runs 20 to 35 days after colour approval, and sea freight to Los Angeles, Savannah or New York adds 30 to 35 days. We are a 20,000 m² factory in Jiangshan, Zhejiang, supplying several of the world's ten largest building-material brands on the same lines.
